The Scrap Yard is located just outside of Middlebury and offers visitors a wonderful escape from the hectic pace of life. The picturesque setting is in the woods overlooking a clearing and a pond is just beyond that. This retreat is perfect for nature lovers hoping to catch a glimpse of a deer or two along with a variety of other wildlife. And of course, crafting! Bring your scrap-booking, quilting, and crafting friends and enjoy your private crafters getaway!

There are numerous trails in the woods for you to explore and to enjoy the beauty of nature. (Trails are closed November 1-December 31 for hunting season). There is also a pond for those that enjoy fishing. A fishing license is not required; however, it is strictly catch and release (bait and tackle not provided). The clearing is great for playing catch, throwing frisbee, or playing outdoor games you may bring. In the evening, you can sit around the campfire (firewood provided) and enjoy the sounds of the frogs down at the pond and the crackling of the fire. There is also a charcoal grill provided, but you will need to bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid.

Inside this retreat, you will find a fully equipped kitchen with all the basics of home for your convenience. The dining room has a beautiful table, perfect for your family and friends to gather around and enjoy a meal together. We also offer 14 crafters tables with comfortable office chairs and dedicated power supply to be set up upon request for all your crafting needs.
accommodations
This retreat has five private bedrooms - one room with 1 king size bed, three rooms with 1 twin size and 1 queen size bed, and one with 1 queen size bed. There is also an open loft in the common area with 1 twin bed. We do provide all the linens and towels. We have 2 full bathrooms with showers. Enjoy the cozy atmosphere and grand views of the spacious sitting area with your friends and loved ones or request a crafters setup of tables and chairs. No pets allowed except service animals.
